R&D is a very important business area within TecWel.

Every service and product from TecWel is a result of the company's own R&D effort. As stated in the business philosophy of TecWel: 

“TecWel develops and manufactures high frequency ULTRASOUND logging tools and provides cased-hole logging services to the Oil & Gas Industry worldwide!”

Without an active and high-profile R&D department in the company, the philosophy could not have been fulfilled. R&D in TecWel is equally important in the process of continuously improving the company’s tools and services. Upgrading of tools is important to sustain a competitive edge in a competitive market.

All cased-hole services from TecWel are based on proprietary tools using the physical principle of ULTRASOUND for the active downhole data gathering processes. This means that TecWel has built up a unique knowledge within in ultrasound technology and also electronics. This know-how is paired with competence within petroleum technology and an understanding of the customer’s needs. Using this knowledge leads the company to develop tools and services through R&D activities which are designed to close technology gaps. It is also an objective for TecWel to improve the data quality from services already supplied by other companies which are using different physical principles in their measurements than ultrasound.

The ultimate goal of TecWel and its R&D efforts is to develop the company into an organisation that can supply all required cased-hole logging services to the customers by employing proprietary tools utilising only ultrasound technology.
