The Well Flow Profile (WFP), a cased-hole logging tool developed by TecWel, can provide detailed information about the inflow profile from completed reservoir zones. The WFP can be run in all types of completions, and the tool will identify the intervals that are contributing to the production and the relative velocity of the fluids entering the well bore at different depths. During shut-in passes the WFP can identify cross-flow. The WFP cannot quantify the velocity or the production rate in a well, but it does provide a relative velocity profile between the different producing / injecting intervals in the well.
Specifications for using the tool:
The WFP can be run as a stand-alone service, but the tool can also be run in combination with other production logging tools like spinners, pressure and temperature gauges etc, provided the tools are using the same telemetry system. It is required to log with a line speed from 3 to10 m/min (10 to 30 ft/min).
